Jeremiah was a young man of more than ordinary ability & intelligence & was a member of the junior class at Penn's College, Gettysburg, PA., where he died. His body was brought home & placed by the side of his father & mother in Grindstone Hill Graveyard.

He obtained a good business education in the Loganport Commerical College in the State of Indiana. He was engaged in farming near Iowa City in the State of Iowa.

Mr. Snyder graduated from Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, PA, in June 1875, & from the Lutheran Theological Seminary of the same place in June 1878. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel in the Lutheran Church at Wrightsville, PA., September 1878 & from July 1878 to July 1884; & the Utica charge, frederick Co., MD., from August 1884 to January 1889. On account of ill health, he resigned from the latter charge & returned to New Franklin. His health having been restored, he lately accepted a call to Funkstown, MD., charge, where he now resides (1890).

Clarence enlisted in the Army in the late war when quite a young man & continued in the service until the close of the war, having participated in many battles. After returning home, he enlisted in the Regular Army & served on the frontier for a term of 3 years.
