Last week I spent with F.Wilhelm H.Schlaudraff's nephew in San Antonio, TX so to figure out more details about this branch of my family.
He told me that Wilhelm Schlaudraff was a personal doctor of the turkish Sultan Mehmed V. during WWI.

So Anna Gertraut Corcilius is a daughter of Melchior Corcilius. She was “Isenburgisch leibeigen” and went to Mogendorf to marry the “Eulner” Theis Ströder in Ransbach 1657.
There are several children out of this connection.

Monique is known as the 'Daisy' girl. Daisy is the infamous Johnson campaign ad from 1964 where the (3 year-old) young girls is picking the petals off a daisy, ending with a nuclear explosion. The campaign ad was partly responsible for Goldwater's loss.

Alice Pauline Southward Clifton, age 101 years, 6 months, 16 days of Circleville, OH, passed peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2012, at Pickaway Manor in Circleville, OH. She was the daughter of Ralph Leonard Southward and Martha Ella McPherson Southward, born November 30, 1910 in Pherson, Pickaway County, OH.

In 1912 her family migrated by train from Ohio to Oklahoma living first near Gutherie, farming; then later near McAlester, coal mining. On July 4, 1924, her family returned to Pherson, OH driving a model T Ford touring car. This return trip required five days, stopping each evening to camp.

She graduated in 1928 from Jackson Township High School. In 1932 from Ohio State University in home economics where she was a member of the Kappa Phi Sorority. Her teaching career began that year at Darby Township High School for a salary of $800.00. After having her children, she resumed teaching at Kingston Union High School then Zane Trace High School from which she retired in 1975.

She married W. Harold Clifton February 18, 1933 and thereafter resided in Circleville, OH. They had nine children, seven of whom survive: Dr. Gene (Carolyn) Clifton, Springfield, OH; Yvonne (Col. David) Corzilius, Cloverdale, CA; Phyllis (Carl) Heister, Canal Winchester, OH; Sally (Dr. Anthony) Giovinazzo, Medina, OH; Carolyn (Ted) Goodman, Columbus, OH; Marilyn (Dr. John) Davis, Columbus, OH and William (Nancy) Clifton, Anchorage, AK. She had 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Mary Cox (Delano) Williams of Lithopolis, OH and many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed history and genealogy volunteering at the Pickaway County Historical Society; going to auctions where she collected many of her fine antiques that her husband, Harold, wonderfully restored; gardening where she tenderly cared for her beautifully landscaped yard and also the garden at the Moore House museum until her 99th year; and traveling visiting Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, England, Germany, Luxemburg, Austria, France, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Japan, Viet Nam, and Thailand.

She was a member of Community United Methodist Church, a life member of the Pickaway County Historical Society, a member of the Ohio Historical Society, American Association of University Women, Pickaway County Retired Teachers Association, and was selected Pickaway County 1992 Senior Citizen of the Year.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph Herbert (Jane) and Richard Evert (Irene) Southward, sister, Marjorie Louise Southward, her husband, Harold in 1995, infant sons, William Harrison and Victor Allen Clifton, sons-in-law, Dr. John Tootle Davis and Col. David S Corzilius and granddaughter, Cynthia E. Corzilius.

Funeral service at Community United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, OH with Pastor Barry Burns officiating. Interment at Darbyville Cemetery.
